If you are looking for a reliable nonstick pan, Greenpan is one of the best that I have tried. This cookware brand has many collections with different designs, steel types, features, budgets and colors to suit every type of user from the home cook to chefs and anyone who loves to cook.

I was shopping for a nonstick frying pan and a professional chef happened to be there and he was raving about Greenpan, which piqued my interest to see the pan.
The moment I laid my hands on the Greenpan Mayflower 28cm Open Wok, I could already feel the quality. The pan had a slight heft, and the whole construction felt solid.
Why I like the Greenpan Mayflower
The depth of the pan is just right for me as I often make stir-fries and Chinese food. Just like a wok, albeit a smaller version, the high sides of the pan prevent food from spilling out. The wooden handle provide a comfortable grip and does not get hot when cooking.
Frying fish, eggs and tofu is a breeze due to the ceramic nonstick coating. I have also cooked pasta sauces, fried rice, stews, soups and more in this pan.
One of the things that I like the most about this Greenpan is that it doesn’t give me a headache, like literally, unlike some other nonstick pans that I’ve tried before. I read that this is caused by inhaling toxic fumes from overheated pans coated with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). So, it is reassuring to know that Greenpan cookware does not contain any PTFE.
Is Greenpan Cookware Safe?
The Greenpan frypan is coated with Thermolon (not to be confused with Teflon), a type of ceramic non-stick coating manufactured without PFAS, PFOA, lead, or cadmium.
Greenpan is the first cookware company to introduce Thermolon to the market in 2007. Since then, they have created 8 generations of Thermolon. The raw materials for their Thermolon coating originate from, guess what? Sand! This sand is turned into a sprayable solution and sprayed onto the pans. Thereafter, the pans are cured in a low-temperature oven. Compared to conventional non-stick pans, Greenpan’s cookware requires much less energy to produce, which is a bonus for the environment too.
Is Greenpan a Perfect Nonstick Pan?
Even though the Greenpan is a safe and reliable cookware and easy on the eyes, it is not without flaws.
The base of this pan is thick, but for me, it’s not easy to wash off the accumulated burnt marks at the bottom of the pan. This is the only issue I have with Greenpan. Don’t worry, the stains on the bottom of the pan will not affect the quality of the pan other than its appearance.
How to Care for the Greenpan
As with all non-stick pans, avoid using metal utensils when cooking to prolong their lifespan. Metal utensils can potentially cause nicks and scratches, where food and oil can get trapped inside.
Even though Greenpan claims that their pans are metal utensil safe, I prefer to use silicone utensils. So far, the surface of the frypan is still as smooth as the first day I got it.
If properly maintained, Greenpan should provide many years of enjoyable cooking experience. Just follow their simple care guide on the packaging material.

Final Thoughts
I have been using this frying pan for about 3 years now and I have no complaints except for the burnt stains on the bottom of the pan, which isn’t a dealbreaker for me. I would be happy to purchase another GreenPan in the future, whether to replace my current one or to expand my collection.
