What I love about Happycall Alumite Pot
#1. Low Wall: Happycall alumite ceramic pots come in various sizes and colors. What I really like about this 3 qt model is its low wall; making it suitable not just for cooking but for serving food. It goes straight from the stove to the dining table and that saves me from washing one more plate.
The low wall also makes this pot excellent for pan frying. I use it to fry tofu, fish and more.
#2. Non-stick surface: Although it has a non-stick surface, it is not made of teflon but high-purity ceramic coating. Food does not stick to the surface of the pot even with minimal oil.
#3. Heats up quickly: It takes just seconds for the pot to heat up and food cooks quickly and evenly. This is helpful and I have more time for other activities. It sears well when frying.
#4. Highly scratch-resistant: Usually with a non-stick surface, it gets scratched easily but amazingly, there is not a single scratch nor stain mark on my Happycall pot and I’ve been using it for 3 years now! Of course, I treat it with care and do not use sharp cooking utensils and abrasive cleaning materials. Till now, it is still in pristine condition.
#5. Rivet-free body: This gives Happycall Alumite Ceramic Pots its distinctive ‘clean’ appearance. Pots with riveted handles make it impossible to clean the inside of the pot thoroughly so I’m really pleased with Happycall’s non-rivet handles. As there are no rivets, I don’t have to worry about rust forming and gunk collecting on the rivets.
As the handles are joined to the pot, it’s a must to use a pair of gloves or silicon mitts when the pot is hot. I was so used to cooking with a pot with non-conducive handles that I forgot to use them when I first started using this pot and got a very ‘hot’ surprise when I touched the handles during cooking. But once you’re used to this cookware, you will remember not to handle the pots directly with your hands when cooking. (The only exception to this is the 2 qt green saucepan as the handle for that pot is made of bakelite).
#6. See-through and self-standing glass lid: I love the convenience of the see-through glass lid as it allows me to check on the food without having to open the lid. This also prevents heat from escaping.
If you have limited counter top space like me, you will love its self-standing feature. Just let the lid rest vertically to utilize less kitchen space. My counter top gets really cluttered during cooking so this is a feature that I find very useful.
#7. Stylish design and fun colors: Who doesn’t like a pop of color in their kitchen? Besides orange, Happycall pots also come in other colors such as red, blue, green and brown. Click here to see the full range of colors.
#8. Cleaning is a breeze. Food does not get stuck easily and the surface is very easy to clean.
Other cool features:
#1. Oven safe: It can go straight from the stove to the oven but without the lid. (Only the 2qt saucepan is not oven safe due to the bakelite handle). I have not personally baked with this pot yet but I’ve seen other users making rice and cake in the oven with it.
#2. Lightweight: Although it looks and is a very solid piece of cookware, it is surprisingly light and easy to clean. You get the benefits of quick heating aluminium-light pan but the results of cooking with heavy cookware such as stainless steel.
What can you cook with Happycall Alumite Ceramic Pots?
A versatile cookware, I use this pot to cook soups, fried fish, stews, pasta sauces and Chinese desserts. This video shows some of the foods cooked with Happycall Alumite Ceramic Pots.
How to Care For Your Happycall Alumite Ceramic Pot
I received some comments from a few Happycall users that their pot turned sticky after some time. This may be due to the pot not being thoroughly cleaned after each use. These are some tips on keeping your Happycall pots in tip top condition from my personal experience. Please refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for their recommendations on how to care for the product too.
- Never use sharp metallic cooking utensils to avoid accidental scratches. Use silicone or wooden cooking utensils as they are gentler on the pot.
- Do not use this product in a microwave. It is suitable for stoves and ovens but the lids are not oven safe due to the Bakelite handle and tempered glass.
- If you find stubborn stains or the pot turning sticky, use a little Cif cream cleaner (it is a non abrasive multi-surface cleaner that works like a charm) and a non-scratch scrub sponge to gently clean.
- Although this product is dishwasher safe, I always hand wash the pot and wipe dry after every wash.

I like to boil porridge, any boiling out if cook with lid close? Will those cooking meat become tender faster?
Yvonne says
Yes, the porridge will spill over if you cook with the lid on. Also, you need to stir from time to time so that the porridge doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pot. It depends on the type and cut of meat and how you cook it. Chicken usually cooks faster than pork. Bone-in meat will take a longer time to cook compared to boneless meat.
Marissa says
Hi Yvonne,
Is it PFOA free? Becouse i never read any statement abt the HC ceramic pot is PFOA free.
Thank u 🙂
Yvonne says
Hi Marissa,
Thanks for writing in. I checked with Happycall and this was their reply: “yes Happycall Alumite Ceramic Pots are PFOA-free. As a matter of fact, all Happycall cookware is PFOA-free. Thanks for asking!”
Grace says
Hi, I have a few Happy Call pots, which I realized it has been scratched. I believed it is due to using metal utensils. As a result, most of the time, it is sticky when I cook it. Advice needed if I should throw the pot away or can I still salvage it? Cos I saw the advert on the Happy call pan that it is scratch proof, is it true? Or maybe the pots are not as durable? I am just afraid that if I continue using it, it may leach out metal and lead contents. Your advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much
Yvonne says
Hi Grace,
Are the scratches superficial ones or deep pitted? Personally, I would discontinue using the pots if the scratches are deep and you can feel them. If they’re just surface scratches and does not expose the underlying material, then it should be fine to use. I highly recommend using silicone cooking utensils or at least wooden ones to avoid accidental scratches. Happycall alumite pots are highly durable as long as you follow the manufacturer’s care and usage instructions.
Yvonne
Jane says
Hello Yvonne, can I use metal utensils to cook? or must I use wooden ones?
Yvonne says
Hi Jane,
Thanks for writing in. It is not advisable to use metal utensils to cook on Happycall’s Alumite Ceramic Pots to avoid any scratches. Silicone and wooden cooking utensils would be better.
Yap says
Hi..may I know the Happy Call Alumite pots can be used on Ceramic hob?
Yvonne says
Hi there,
Thanks for writing in. Happycall alumite pots cannot be used on ceramic hobs. They are suitable for use on gas stovetops and are oven safe up to 400 degrees F (without the lid). Hope that helps.
Jessie says
What about induction cooker? Is it safe?
Yvonne says
Hi Jessie,
No, they’re not meant to be used on induction cookers. Only on gas stove.
Lawrence says
Hi Yvonne, I used it on induction cooker which says all types of pots for my steamboat. So far no problem.
Yvonne says
Hi Lawrence,
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. 🙂
Pamela says
Hi… Wonder if this pot is oven safe? I know it’s very good over the stove but have not dared to bake in an oven..
Yvonne says
Hi Pamela,
Thanks for writing in. All Happycall pots (except the green saucepan due to the handle) are oven safe but remember not to bake with the cover as it is made of glass. You can refer to the first video in the review. Hope that helps.
Alicia Chow says
Hi Yvonne,
Wow such an awesome review especially the cleaning part. May I know can I use Happycall to cook Black Vinegar Pig Trotter 猪脚醋? Is Happycall safe to cook acidic food?
Then for cleaning part, if I want to wash it immediately after cooking, can I just use normal temperature tap water? I afraid the hot and cold temperature will affect the lasting of the non stick coating.
Yvonne says
Hi Alicia,
Thanks for your comments and questions. As far as I know, Happycall cookware is safe to cook acidic foods. I also checked with Happycall and they confirmed that Happycall alumite ceramic pots are safe to cook acidic foods. You may like to find out more about reactive cookware in this article.
For cleaning, I usually wait for the pots to cool first as the handles are too hot for me to grip. But if you want to wash it right away after cooking, I recommend that you wear a pair of gloves before washing with warm or hot water.
Michelle says
Hi.I have 4 happy call pots and wok.. using abt 1 yr .. however all the star patterned pots become sticky now.. I am so so sad whenever I try to use that to cook, cos either I need to add a lot oil so that it will not so sticky or the food will stick.. can u advise me what to do? I even brush a layer of oil in the pot and leave it overnight so hope that it “absorb” the oil.. pls help.
Yvonne says
Hi Michelle,
What do you usually cook with your Happycall pots and how do you clean them after each use? I’m not sure how your pots became sticky because mine aren’t sticky at all. The most visible difference when I compare my current Happycall pots with a brand new HC pot that I bought recently is that the star embossing is not as obvious on the older ones. Other than that, the older pots work fine. For me, if my pots were to ever turn sticky, I would wash them thoroughly with water and a little Cif. Then wipe dry.
Yvonne says
Michelle,
I just updated my post with a youtube video of how you can clean your Happycall Alumite Ceramic Pots. There’s no need to brush any oil.
PF Wong says
Hi Yvonne! very good review and I really fall in love with it after seeing your review.
One question: May I know after you use one pot for cooking, how long it takes for it to be cooled down and then you clean it with water? Can it be immediately?
Yvonne says
(Updated comment)
Hi Phui Fung,
I’m glad you like the review. Usually after cooking, I will leave the pot on the stove while I eat. By the time I finish my meal, it would be cool enough for me to wash. If you want to wash the pots immediately after cooking, I would suggest that you use Happycall’s silicon pot holder to grip one of the handles when you wash because they will still be hot. The only exception is the 1.8 lt green saucepan as the handle for that pot is not heat conductive. Wash with water and mild dish detergent. Hope that helps 🙂
PF Wong says
Hi Yvonne,
Thanks for replying!
May I know what kind of mild dish detergent are you using? Also, what kind of material you use for washing the pot?
And also, can the Stainless Steel Steamer use to steam one whole chicken? Fit?
Yvonne says
Hi there,
I am currently using UIC. Previously, I used Mama Lemon and both are fine. I’m using 3M sponge to clean my pots. For the stainless steel steamer, it will not fit a whole chicken. You’ll need to chop the chicken into smaller pieces and cook according to how much you can put onto your steaming plate. Perhaps this recipe https://souperdiaries.com/steamed-chicken-with-black-fungus will give you a better idea. The plate that I used can fit into the steamer and there was around 450 g of chicken placed on a single layer. The height of the steamer is about 2.5 “.
yvonne says
Hi
Are you able to advise if this HC ceramic pot can be used on induction cooker? Thank you.
Yvonne says
Hi Yvonne! (I had to read twice to check that it wasn’t my own comment. haha!)
HC ceramic pot can’t be used on induction stove. Only on gas stoves. Hope it helps.
Derek Marshall says
HI there,
Awesome review, very detailed and informative. I love love this site as it is highly informative and a great resource for soups – one of the highlights of Asian cuisine.
looking forward to some recipes of, if you can, Thai and Malaysian soups .
Keep up the excellent work on this fabulous site
Yvonne says
Hi Derek,
Thank you so much for your kind comments. I will work on the recipes of Thai and Malaysian soups. Having said that, there are many similar dishes in Malaysian and Singaporean cuisine as our cultures are closely linked together.
Simone says
I have been shopping around for new pots and have decided I would like something ceramic. I have narrowed it down to several brands and the Happycall alumite ceramic pot is one of them.
Your review has pretty much sold me on this set! I Iove all of the vibrant colors. The ability to have the lid stand vertically is a great feature. I love this.
My only concern was the coating and if it releases any chemicals? Are you able to tell me more about this?
Yvonne says
Hi Simone,
I’m glad you like the review. I did some online research but I don’t see anywhere where it says the coating on Happycall pots releases chemicals. I have written to Happycall website with your inquiry. Sorry I couldn’t give you a more definitive answer right now.
David says
I’m a retired man and do most of the cooking while my wife works. I really like the style of the Happycall pots, they are nicely designed. But the thing I like the most about them is they are scratch resistant and quick to heat up.
I would very much like to try one of these pots first hand.
Thank you for the good review!
Yvonne says
Hi David, I’m glad you enjoyed the review. These pots are not only stylish but they are very useful in the kitchen. I hope you will like using them as much as I do. Thanks for your comments 🙂
Cees says
Thanks for all the cooking info.
I always have a problem taking the pans off the fire and burning my hands.
So I was wondering the potholders you are mentioning are they really helpful.
I did see them before but for me they always look a bit strange and not sure if they are helpful.
Cees
Yvonne says
Hi Cees, the pot holders are made of silicon. They are small but big enough for you to grip the Happycall pots. I also use them to lift up my other cookware like stainless steel so it’s very helpful for me. Thanks for your comments!
Lina says
Yvonne, I am watching the video with my maid, the one who cooks at home. We’re laughing for 6 minutes or so. Why? Because our cookwares are all sticky, even the most expensive ones we bought from the MLM cookware. After 1 or 2 years, they are all sticky, hard to clean and really waste much time when we have party at home. I like to invite friends for dinner after office or on weekend. I think I must buy this happycall cookware. The video is convincing, we can see the difference. Thank you for your post.
Yvonne says
Hi Lina, I’m glad you like Happycall and enjoyed the video. Happycall cookware is really easy to clean therefore freeing me time to do other things. Thanks for your wonderful comments! 🙂
Sal says
Thanks for this informative post. Yes, as a busy mom anything or product that helps to save time is a plus! I appreciate the details in the review and the video that you attached also. Thanks 🙂
Yvonne says
You’re welcome. Thanks for your comment! 🙂
Becky says
WOW! What an amazing find! I am in the kitchen quite often as I am a mom and wife. I am obsessed with kitchen appliances, especially ones that make clean up faster and easier. I would love to try these pots! Thanks for sharing them! I’ll have to come back to your site to get them sometime!
Yvonne says
I’m glad you like them, Becky. They really do make cleaning up a breeze. It is also surprisingly light so no heavy lifting is required when washing up. Thanks for your comment!
Kelen says
Thanks Yvonne, for the awesome product overview! I have been looking for some good kitchen pots!
Thanks again!

Vijayakumaar says
Hi Yvonne,
I have lost track of the number of times I have thrown out the non stick utensils I use in my kitchen because of scratches. I have understood over the years that we have to be really careful about our choice when it comes to kitchen wares. I think Alumite Ceramic Pot is one of great quality and going to save me some bucks in the long run. It looks beautiful as well. I will definitely consider buying one. Thanks,
Regards,
Vijay.
Yvonne says
Hi Vijay, I’m glad you like this cookware. With the wide array of cookware choices available, it can get costly going through countless of pots and pans. I’ve never regretted once my purchase of Happycall Alumite Ceramic Pot and I hope you’ll enjoy using this great product too. 🙂
PJ says
Hi Yvonne,
You’ve done a wonderful service by introducing us to these lovely pots, and the accessories too. I think I will have to buy a small pot just to try it out, and then get the entire set.
PJ
Yvonne says
Hi PJ, thanks for coming over. The pots come in various sizes to cater to different needs. I have a feeling you’re going to love it 🙂
Zarina says
Hey there,
I am not much of a cook, but I definitely like those ceramic pots thanks to you! 😀
In either case, I do need to make some kitchen investments, so thanks for your article!
Keep it up!
Zarina
Yvonne says
Hi Zarina, I’m glad you like Happycall Alumite Ceramic Pots. They are definitely a good kitchen investment! 🙂
Anthony says
They look amazing. The video was great and you really got to see the different. Though quite expensive I will definitely look at buying them. They look like they’d make life so much easier.
Yvonne says
Hi Anthony, thanks for dropping in. Yes, they do make life so much easier in the kitchen and I really enjoy using them. It may be a little pricey but it is a worthwhile investment.
Stephen says
oh wow! this cookware is beyond gorgeous…I want them purely because they are pretty! added to that the fact that my current pots heat things unevenly…I think I’m going to take a closer look at these 🙂
Yvonne says
haha I’m glad you like them. They are not only pretty but very efficient in the kitchen too! Thanks for visiting, Stephen 🙂
GrampaMike says
I love these pots because of the handle design. I am always forgetting to tip the lid away from me to release steam. My wrists always get burned with my old lids. These handles are perfect because the unique design will remind me to tip the lid and release the steam away from my wrists. I love it.
Yvonne says
Nice to see you here Grampa! I’m glad you like the pot handles. I love the unique design of the handles too 🙂
Emily says
hi Yvonne!
wow now I want Alumite ceramic pots!! Even though I had never heard of alumite before today, lol 🙂 Kidding aside, those pots look fantastic and the prices are high but still reasonable for the quality you get. I mean, their features such as the stands for the lids and the fast heating action are awesome ones. I am not a fan of the heat conducive handles though. I get why the silicone handles are in the picture now. Because it seems as though one really needs to use them…..
Yvonne says
Hi Emily, thanks for your comments. After I got burnt once, I always remembered to use a pair of silicon mitts for the pot handles lol. I love the look of the pots too. The price was high for me too before I bought it. But after using it for 2 years, I can say that it’s good value for my money and totally worth it. 🙂
Kimberly says
Great review, I have never heard of these pots before, but they sound fantastic. I kind of want to go out a buy some now. 2 years and no scratches is amazing! I am so tired of buying new pots because they lose their non stick coating. Its very frustrating. I also love the colours!
Yvonne says
Hi Kimberly, thanks for visiting. I’m really tired of buying new pots too which I do almost every year so this range of cookware is really great for me and my kitchen. Yes, the colors are really great and would liven up any kitchen! 🙂
Guy says
I remember the days when the first non sticking cookware came out. It was produced by T Fal. Now it has really improved over the years. I have an old set at home and I enjoy cooking with it. It’s not only easy to use but also easy to clean after.
But I love that little set you are presenting here Happycall Alumite Ceramic you call it. Love the color it comes out with. And it doesn’t look that expensive either. It would sure look good in my kitchen ?
Yvonne says
Hi Guy, I still have my Tefal too but I seldom use it nowadays as I use my Happycall Diamond Frying Wok more. It is another great addition to my kitchen 🙂
Jalyssa says
Hey Im sold on getting these pots. I just have one silly question, can i fry foods in the orange pot?
Yvonne says
Yes, you can certainly fry foods in the orange pot or any of the Happycall alumite ceramic pots for that matter. Check out this Green Fish Papaya Soup where I used the orange Happycall alumite ceramic pot to fry a fish head.
